My kids and I have stayed here several times this past summer and it's my new favorite get away spot. It's beautiful and secluded, always peaceful. The cabins are very well cared for and a huge step above other cabins I've stayed in. Best of all they accept dogs. We're hoping to visit again this fall.
This is a great spot to camp, very secluded. We stayed at the Lodge and it was a very clean and fun place to stay. We've stayed in a lot of cabins over the years at many different locations and I have to say this is our new favorite. Fishing was pretty good at savory pond. I'm not sure what the other reviewer is referring to as far as the owner is concerned. Martin and Lori are very nice people and weren't intrusive at all during our 3 day stay.
Nestled in the very scenic Loess Hills, this spot offers a great jumping point for hunting, fishing and hiking. The facilities, for the most part, are great, although a resident caretaker normally resides in Cabin 2, vacating it should demand warrant. This cabin is a really dirty and reeks of cigarette smoke. Avoid staying there at all costs. Also avoid spending much time with the owner, Martin, as well. He's a bit of a creep and is a bit intrusive. Keep note of your deposit payment to him as his accounting is highly suspect. Follow those tips and you are bound to love this spot.
